In this public workshop, delivered by the Ontario Gang Investigators Association, participants will learn about:

  • Street gangs and gang trends in Innisfil
  • Human trafficking
  • How social media is used to facilitate violence and victimization among young people
  • Tips for how to recognize, respond, and support young people who encounter these situations

There will also be short presentations about the local context from South Simcoe Police Service and members of the Town of Innisfil’s Building Safer Communities project team.

This session is recommended for people supporting and working with youth and families in Innisfil. Light morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.

This event is part of the 2024 Crime Prevention activities. From November 4 to 8, the Town of Innisfil and community partners are hosting programs addressing critical safety concerns impacting youth and the wider community.
